Where each test is accepted
Both are widely accepted by universities and employers. Cambridge English is accepted by more than 25,000 organisations, and IELTS by more than 12,000, including most universities in the UK, Canada, Australia and Europe. For study, both are strong options. The big difference is visas.
Cambridge English qualifications are not a UK Secure English Language Test, so they cannot be used for a UK visa, whatever the level.
